Presidents Report 2017

We have come to the end of the 45th season of Dynamos Juniors and what a fantastic season it has been. All of my thanks go to our coaches, players, parents and committee members. The effort of everyone involved makes us an all-inclusive, family orientated club that many players and parents in our community want to be a part of.

This year we saw the introduction of 2 new age groups, U/10 girls and U/14 girls. There was much interest from girls both within our club and outside of the club and we were able to field 1 x U/10 girls and 2 x U/14 girls along with our already established U/17 girls team. The new U/10 girls team had players aged 8 through to 10 and all girls involved developed new skills throughout the season and are all keen to keep playing into 2018. Our new U/14 girl’s teams had players aged 10 through to 13 and had outstanding success in the competition, ending the season as with Dynamos girls finishing as league winners and Dynamites finishing league runners-up. This is an amazing achievement for both teams considering over 50% of the girls playing had never played soccer before. Introduction of these new teams give girls a clear pathway from juniors through to seniors and beyond, hopefully this competition will continue to grow.

In regards to our other club results for 2017, we had both League Winners, League Runners/Up, Top Four Cup Winners and Top Four Cup Runners/Up in 5 divisions.

U/11 – League Runner/Up

U/11- Top Four Cup Runner/Up

U/13 – Top Four Cup Winner

U/14 Girls – League Winner

U/14 Girls – League Runners/Up

U/14 Girls – Top Four Cup Runners/Up

U/14 – League Runners/Up

U/14 – Top Four Cup Runners/Up

U/16 – League Runners/Up

We also had 3 individual award winners

Joel Achempong – CCJSA U/16 Fairest and Best Runners/up

Hannah McNaughton – CCJSA U/14 Girls R/UP Fairest and Best

Thomas Sampey – CCJSA U/11 Fairest and Best

CCJSA Country week was also a huge success for us with over 50 players from Dynamos being selected. From the 18-support staff attending, 10 were from Dynamos, this is a great testament to the ability of our club and our volunteers.

Our SSG Carnival was held on September 2nd, although our team nomination numbers were down from previous years, it was still an enjoyable and successful day for all clubs that did attend. All our dynamos volunteers put in a huge effort, without them all we could not continue to run such a large junior carnival.

In June we held the Dynamos Junior Family Quiz night at the Italian Club, Bunbury. It has been many years since we have held a club function like this and it was a fantastic success with over 100 people attending. Thank you to all committee members who helped make this such a great night. I am looking forward to our next one in 2018.

This year saw the introduction of not just new strips, but new polo’s, boot bags and caps. Together with our club jackets all our families have a large choice of merchandise to purchase. This not only aids us in our fundraising but makes all our members look great when they are out in the wider community. Big thanks go to Katrina (and Simon) for all their hard work both in the season and out of it to enable us to have all this merchandise available to us.

Thanks to Lance, our registrar for handling all the registrations and team allocations, it is never an easy job but Lance seems to handle it with ease.

Thanks to Suzanne for ensuring all our first aid supplies were available to our teams at the commencement of the season and thanks to Margaret and Darryl for opening and running the canteen each Saturday. Not only has the canteen been a great service but it has also been profitable for us in 2017.

Our website, this year has continued to grow and now is not only frequented by our members, but players from other clubs.

Thank you to Emily, our treasurer, for dragging us into the modern era and setting up online banking. It certainly has made my life easier.

Thank you to Sharon for volunteering for the ref allocation job this year. Every week refs were needed for games and every week the refs were there. Thankyou Sharon for ensuring this all worked.

Thanks to Stevo, for everything, the list is too long to mention.

And a general thanks to everyone who I may not have individually mentioned who have helped over the season. Working together we all make a great team.

Looking forward to 2018 (our 46th year).

There are many roles to play at Dynamos Junior Soccer Club, everyone of them is flexible in the amount of time required and skills needed.

We need your time and effort to enable us to deliver a great soccer expereince for your child, in return we hope that we provide the opportunity for you to learn some new skills, meet some new people, or acheive some satisfaction from applying the skills you already have.
